#36DaysOfType 2023
.
36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and visual artists to express their unique interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet.

A yearly open call that explores the creative boundaries of letterforms by challenging participants to design a letter or number each day for 36 consecutive days.

After a year off, having done it in 2020 and 2021 and only deciding a couple days before, I decided to take part again.
What I love about 36 Days of Type is that it’s a great platform to push you into learning and improving skills, as well as giving me the excuse and the opportunity to learn new software.
For a while I’ve been wanting to learn to use Spline and Cavalry, but not having had the chance in my day job to do so I’ve used the past 36 days to start learning both, although I still have a lot to learn.
I kept the brief and styling loose this year to allow me to learn as much as possible without being limited by one style. But I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the two bits of software better.
